Introduction Circuit switched data. Short Message Service (SMS). What is GPRS? GPRS applications. GPRS Terminals Class A, B and C terminals. GPRS architecture Overlaying onto GSM networks. Modifications to GSM network elements required for GPRS. Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN). Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN). Routing and data transfer. GPRS network Protocol Stack Um, Gb, Gn and Gi interfaces. MS, BSS, SGSN and GGSN protocol stacks.
