Introduction to Voice Over IP (VoIP)

Overview

Voice over Internet Protocol is one of the latest costs saving technologies available today. Most corporate bodies will have two types of network available to them, i.e. PSTN and LAN or an IP network. With the spiralling cost of international and national telephone calls VoIP technology enable the corporate, and, if required the private user, to re-route Voice calls over their, often under utilised, data network.

Duration - 3 Days.

Who will benefit

Anyone who requires a technical introduction to Voice over Internet Protocol.

Prerequisites

A basic understanding of TCP/IP Technology.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to describe:

By the end of the course delegates will be able to describe:

• All aspects of Voice over IP
• Protocols, technologies and network architecture
• All the acronyms and latest concepts - SIP, H.323, H.248, MPLS, Diffserv, etc.
• What it all means, from a practical “building the network” point of view
