SDH Network Planning

Overview

The SDH Traffic Network Planning course is a specialist’s course, giving the participant the knowledge necessary for planning the traffic part of a SDH network. This knowledge is applied using a number of exercises.

Duration - 3 Days.

Who will benefit

Technical Personnel

Prerequisites

Participants must have attended or have previous knowledge equivalent to SDH Signals & Standards Advanced. Strongly recommended are also the “Synchronisation of SDH networks” and “DCN” courses. Synchronisation and DCN knowledge is often an advantage, as the traffic planner may have to accommodate those features in the traffic network design. If this is the case, s/he will need to be able to freely communicate with the teams doing those parts of the network plan.

Course Content

On completion of the training, the delegate will have had instruction and practice in using:

• A structured method of network design
• How to use basic manual design methods
• Available traffic protection methods
• Basic network element characteristics
• Economical design considerations
• Network design documentation
